How to Enable Camera2API, EIS, and Google Camera On Mi A1 [No-Root]

So again let me clear you again no need to root the phone or install TWRP recovery on your phone. you can do this only by running some ADB commands on your phone. To install the Google cam on Mi A1 all you have to enable the Camera2API on your phone, after that you can enjoy all the features of the Google Camera on your phone. Like portrait mode on front cam, HD video record support, high frame rate etc.

Before that please follow the below mention steps to setups your phone and Windows PC.

Pre-Requisites

  • Make sure that your device has 70-80 % of battery charge.
  • Install ADB and Fastboot drives here on your Windows PC
  • Do take the full backup of your phone. If something goes wrong you can easily restore your data.

Enable Camera2API, EIS, and Gcam Using Once Click Tool

First Download the G Cam Tool Here and Unzip the folder on your desktop.

Now follow these steps to run this tool on your PC.

1. First, enable the USB debugging mode on your phone.

2. Go to phone Settings > System > About Phone > Build Number and Tap on Build Number for 7 times consecutively. Then it will display DeveloperOption Enabled.

3. Again go to Phone Settings > System > Developer Option. Tap on it.

4. From here Enable the USB Debugging and OEM unlock option.

5. Now switch off your Phone and Boot Mi A1 in fastboot mode.

6. Hold Volume Down + Power button to boot the phone in fastboot mode.

7. Connect your phone to the PC with USB cable.

8. Now open the G cam tool folder and run the [G-CAM TOOL]1.4.cmd file once.

9. Now follow all the onscreen instructions on your PC.

10. Now the device will auto reboot and the tool will enable the API.

Enable Camera2API By Using Fastboot Method on Mi A1

Download Files to Install G Cam on Mi A1 – Download Here

1. First, enable the USB debugging mode on your phone.

2. Go to phone Settings > System > About Phone > Build Number and Tap on Build Number for 7 times consecutively. Then it will display DeveloperOption Enabled.

3. Again go to Phone Settings > System > Developer Option. Tap on it.

4. From here Enable the USB Debugging and OEM unlock option.

5. Now switch off your Phone and Boot Mi A1 in fastboot mode.

6. Hold Volume Down + Power button to boot the phone in fastboot mode.

7. Connect your phone to the PC with USB cable.

8. Now open the Mi A1 Google Camera folder on your desktop and run the ADB exe file to install ADB drivers.

9. Now you will see the ADB folder on your Windows C drive (C:/ADB)

10. Now copy the twrp file from the Mi A1 Google Camera folder and paste in the ADB folder.

11. Go to the ADB folder older and in the open space, hold Shift + Right Click and click on the Open PowerShell Or Open Commands Prompt.

12. Now the command prompt will open on your desktop.

13. Now run the below-mentioned commands one by one on the command prompt window.

fastboot devices
fastboot oem unlock

This will unlock the bootloader of your phone.

fastboot boot twrp.img

Now the phone will boot TWRP recovery

adb devices
adb shell
setprop persist.camera.HAL3.enabled 1
setprop persist.camera.eis.enable 1
exit
adb reboot bootloader

Now your phone will boot again in fastboot mode.

fastboot devices
fastboot oem lock

To lock the bootloader again

fastboot reboot

14. Now your phone will reboot. Now copy the Google Camera APK file from the Mi A1 Google Camera folder and save in your Phone. And Install the same on your phone, to run the Google Camera on your Mi A1 phone.
