HyperOS: Xiaomi’s New OS Is Cool, Features Explained!

As we’re aware, Xiaomi has been actively developing its new OS, HyperOS. Just recently, Xiaomi’s CEO confirmed on Twitter that the eagerly anticipated HyperOS will soon make its debut with the Xiaomi 14 series. Even some screenshot of the upcoming OS is leaked online and even some Dev Build of HyperOS is also leaked.


So now after all these leaks we now know some of the upcoming features of the Xiaomi HyperOS. Lots of new features and customization are coming with this new update and ap per the sources the OS is based on the latest version of Android 14.

Today, in this post, we’re sharing a sneak peek of the HyperOS features and providing details of the devices eligible for the upcoming Android 14 update with HyperOS.

HyperOS Top Features

Some cool new custom options are in store, including fresh lock screen clocks and designs, additional system fonts, more widget personalization, and extra wallpaper choices. The quick settings menu got a subtle update too.

1. New Control Centre

The fresh HyperOS introduces the revamped Control Center, featuring additional tiles and a completely overhauled edit panel compared to the old Control Center

2. Lock Screen Customization

Finally, the much-awaited feature of Lock screen customization is added in the HyperOS. Now in this new OS you can completely change the look of lock screen, add depth wallpaper effect, change clock screen fonts, color, and lot more customization.

3. New AOD (Always on Display)

The next big change in HyperOS is the AOD screens. Xiaomi has added extensive customization options, allowing you to tweak text, colors, and AOD screens according to your preferences.

4. Floating and split-screen windows

Also Xiaomi made some changes in the floating and split-screen windows features. Now they come with new animation and are easy to use. See the video below for more info.

5. Improved Gallery Editor

Another significant change in HyperOS is with the Gallery Editor. Now, in the gallery editor, you can easily copy and paste images into other apps, and you also have the option to remove backgrounds from your photos and replace them with different backgrounds.

6. Depth Effect

You might have heard about the cool Depth Wallpaper effect feature in Apple iOS 17. Well, Xiaomi has also introduced the same feature in HyperOS. With the upcoming OS of Xiaomi, you’ll be able to add a depth effect to your wallpaper, just like iOS.

So these are some of the major features that you will see in the next OS of Xiaomi. Not only this Xiaomi has more surprises up its sleeve. Even you will see some major changes on the app like Weather, Clock, Dialer, calendar, etc. Xiaomi is also focusing on improving battery optimization in the upcoming HyperOS. This means users can expect better battery life and performance in the new HyperOS.

Other Xiaomi devices will receive HyperOS at a later date. The new flagship smartphones Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro will come with HyperOS pre-installed out of the box.
