A few months back Nothing Founder Carl Pei confirmed that Nothing Phone 1 users will soon get the Nothing OS 2 update for their phones. Finally, the company rolled out the new Nothing OS 2.0 update for the Nothing Phone 1 users. The update is based on the Android 13 and comes with the August security patch, and many new features, wallpapers, widgets, etc.
The introduction of Nothing OS 2.0 comes alongside the launch of Nothing Phone 2 and marks a complete transformation from Nothing OS 1. Since the release of Nothing OS 2.0, users of Nothing Phone 1 have been eagerly anticipating this update. Now the wait is over and the update is rolled out globally and many users have already updated their phones with this new update.
The update weighs around 0.97 GB and is available through the OTA update. The latest update brings a plethora of new features, with the most significant being the addition of cloned apps and App lock. These are features that users have been eagerly anticipating for quite some time.
Not only that, but this update also introduces new icon packs, widgets, folder customization options, a fresh glyph interface, and extensive customization for both the home screen and lock screen.

• Introduced App Locker – protect your apps by requiring another unlock when attempting to open.

• Updated auto-brightness logic

A Simple Guide to Manually Updating Your Device Using the Built-In Tool:
Follow these steps to manually update:
1. Open your preferred file manager.
2. Create a folder named ‘ota’ at the root level of your storage.
3. Place the correct version of the update file (links provided above) into the newly created ‘ota’ folder.
4. Dial ##682## using your dial pad.
5. The manual update utility will launch.
6. It will scan and locate the update file you downloaded earlier.
7. Tap the file to initiate the update process.
8. Take a break and allow about 10-15 minutes for the update to finish.
