How to Get Back the Old Stock SMS app on Android 4.4 Kitkat
Go the Google play store from your android mobile and search for the 8sms free application and install it. You can find the download link at the end of this post. The application is free to download and based on the Android 4.3 / CyanogenMod 10.2 messaging app. The application is powered with some awesome features such as notification popups, quick reply, gesture templates, emoji and dark theme support.
Recently the developer of the app added one more new feature Configurable icon in the application. With the help of this setting you can change the icon on your home screen, the new icon is based on the Old Stock application icon.
Once the application is installed, go to your Google+ hangout settings and change the default SMS setting. Here all you have to select the 8SMS application as your default sms app and you are ready to go.
